Selena Gomez just made a major hair change, and we’re both in shock and in love!
On April 23, The musician, actor, and entrepreneur shared a pic of her new look to the Rare Beauty Instagram account, writing, "New look. Need to pick new Rare Beauty lip and blush shades now.” In the pic, Sel’s trademark chocolate brown hair is gone, replaced by a bright almost-platinum shade of pale blonde with a hint of root to give it a lived-in feel. (Billie Eilish would def approve!) Sel is posing in front of a mirror taking that classic “just back from the salon” post-makeover pic, wearing a casual tee and rocking a multicolored pastel manicure and floral motif ring.

This is a total transformation for Selena, and we’re feeling it. Fans are too. They quickly flooded the post with likes and comments about the return of “BLONDELENA.” Selena didn’t share the pic to her @selenagomez account but did post a pic to her Instagram Stories.
Selena has rocked blonde hair before, though it’s been a while since she sported the shade. In 2017, she debuted a shade of “Nirvana blonde” at the AMAs, and according to her stylist, the look took nine hours, eight bowls of bleach, and two stylists to complete. We have a feeling Selena’s new blonde look was much of the same, though she may have pulled a Billie Eilish and lifted her color over the course of a few weeks.
Selena hasn’t shared which shades of Rare Beauty blush and lipstick she’s opting for to complement her new color, but we think any shade would look fabulous with this classic blonde! And we will be keeping our eyes peeled when she does share!
