13 Lightweight Jackets That Are Perfect For In-Between Weather
March is a great month (and I’m not saying that because it’s my birthday month). It’s the month of great things: the beginning of Aries season, spring, National Women's History Month. However, I must admit there’s a major downside. You never know what’s up with the weather, which is highly annoying. Every morning is a surprise: it can actually be spring with temperatures rising above 45 degrees, or it can be a second winter (strong winds, cool temperatures and sometimes snow!)
If you’re not familiar, second winter is what I like to call the time where you think you’re out of the cold, eerie, winter and you believe sunshine and warm weather is indeed at the end of the tunnel, but all you get is more cold and more wind chills. Though the temperatures aren’t as intense as the ones during actual winter, they’re just as annoying simply because you’re expecting it all to be over. Plus, dare I say, that it’s even more annoying because it makes dressing up in the morning an odyssey. Will I sweat on my morning commute because my outerwear is too heavy or will I get a cold because I underestimated what 40 degrees felt like?
However, that’s when I pull out my trusty lightweight jackets. Whether it’s a trusty trench coat, oversized denim jacket, or a trendy quilted, belted jacket, they enter my usual rotation of necessary layers, and second winter doesn’t seem that bad.
