Spring might have just started, but if you are already looking ahead and thinking of ways to update up your swimwear collection ahead of summer, Jennie Kim's new collaboration with Frankies Bikinis has done all the homework for you.
On March 26, the BLACKPINK member unveiled her new collaboration with the beloved beachwear and lifestyle brand—which has previously gotten the co-sign from Millie Bobby Brown, as well as Gigi and Bella Hadid, to name a few—with a dreamy seaside campaign shot in Hawaii by Italian photographer Alessio Albi.
“This collection feels personal to me because I was involved in every detail, from the colors to the fits,” Jennie tells Teen Vogue exclusively over email. “It reflects a side of me that’s softer and more relaxed, but still true to my style. I wanted it to feel like a natural extension of me.”
Jennie's Frankies Bikinis collection expands beyond swimwear to include apparel. Though the full lineup has yet to be unveiled on the website, the brand has shared that pieces will range from shorts, mini dresses, hoodies, and tops to bikini sets and one-pieces, all inspired by vintage swimwear silhouettes, which Jennie models in the campaign.
It also features three hand-crochet pieces—a dress, a top, and a cover-up—perfect for laid-back post-beach summer evenings. Special details exclusive to Jennie's collection also include archival-inspired beading, silver hardware, and custom logos.
“I wanted the pieces to feel like summer moments I love: simple, a little playful, and easy to wear anywhere," Jennie said in a general press release. “I was inspired by the idea of something that feels effortless but still cute, like something you reach for without thinking but always feel confident in. It started from the idea of ‘swim-to-street’: reimagining swimwear as something that can be styled beyond the beach and worn effortlessly in everyday life.”
Jennie's collection with Frankies Bikinis will be available on frankiesbikinis.com and at retail partners worldwide starting at 9 a.m. PST on April 2. See some of the key images from the collection's campaign, with specific style references, in the scroll gallery below:
